Striving for the Summit
At Holualoa, we strive to bring out the best in each and every student. Our goal is to create self-directed learners responsible for their own learning. Students are able to tackle complex problems, think critically, and use technology ethically. They are able to communicate and collaborate effectively, and to contribute to the community.
We are proud to use Success for All to help foster a lifelong love of reading. Our library is an important part of our school community.
Math Program
We use I-Ready math to cultivate an interest in numbers and real world problem solving. Math programs and games support hands on classroom learning.
After School Programs
Students in our after school programs enjoy academic support, outdoor play, enrichment and fun.
Our team of counselors and support staff helps students learn about Getting Along Together.
Writing
Our students learn to plan, create and revise quality writing with Write From the Beginning and Beyond.
Our STEM programs integrate science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on learning experiences.
The Arts
Drama and music teach students how to approach a problem, generate ideas, refine and persist to solve creative problems.
We strive to meet the needs of all our students with a dedicated team and personalized, student centered curriculum.

Student Council
Our Student Council is made up of third, fourth and fifth grade students who are elected by their peers. Council members lead at assemblies and meet with our counselors regularly to share ideas for improving the school.
Family is key to student success.
Mom, dad, tutu, uncle and aunty — you're a key factor in student success! New standards and instructional shifts are creating more dynamic learning environments that can look quite different from when you went to school. We encourage family members to reach out to their child's teachers for guidance on how to assist their child with learning at home.
At Holualoa Elementary School, we use Class Dojo to keep families connected. We have Back to School night every fall and parent teacher conferences at the end of October. Our Parent Teacher Organization is another great way to get involved in our school wide events. We'd love to have your support as a volunteer!
